Michael E. Rommel, VMD
Dr. Rommel is the owner of
Millersville Animal Hospital, where he has practiced since 2001. He
sees appointments and performs surgery on weekdays and alternates weekends
with Dr. Trigilio and Dr. Laning.
Dr. Rommel grew
up in Arnold and attended Broadneck High School. He continued his
education at the University of Maryland, earning his bachelor's degree in
Zoology in 1990. He went on to earn his veterinary degree from the
University of Pennsylvania in 1994.
Dr. Rommel initially
practiced companion animal medicine in Pennsylvania and Western Maryland
before returning home to Anne Arundel County. He was an associate
for five years at Pasadena Animal Hospital before joining with Dr. Rodgers
(when the hospital was called Benfield Animal Hospital) in 2001.
Dr. Rommel is active
in the music ministry of Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church, playing bass
guitar and piano. He is also an avid cyclist, who enjoys biking
around Kent Island and the Eastern Shore. He lives in Stevensville
with his wife Jen (who is also a veterinarian), children Shannon and Nathan, and pets that include one
dog, two guinea pigs, four cats and several marine critters.
Timothy
S. Trigilio, DVM
Dr.
Trigilio joined the team at Millersville Animal Hospital in the summer
of 2002. He sees
appointments and performs surgery during the week, and alternates weekends
with the other doctors.
Dr. Trigilio earned his
bachelor's degree in Biology from Washington & Lee University
in 1998, then went on to earn is veterinary degree from Virginia-Maryland
Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM) in 2002.
Dr. Trigilio lives in
Annapolis with his wife Sarah, who is also a veterinarian in Anne Arundel County. They
share their home with four cats and a rescued dog, Elli.
Elli spent the first few
days of her rescue at Millersville Animal Hospital,
with an uncertain future. With a little coaxing, Dr. Trigilio and Sarah
decided the cats would just have to live with a dog, so they took her
home! You can find Elli (and her owners) at one of the
dog parks in
Anne Arundel County, like Broadneck or Annapolis, where she loves to play. Dr.
Trigilio is always equipped with an emergency kit in case one of Elli's
friends gets hurt, so don't be afraid to ask him for help.
Katherine
M. Laning, DVM

appointments and performs surgery on weekdays and alternates weekends with
the other doctors.

mathematics from the University of Richmond in 1996 and graduated with her
veterinary degree from VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in
2000.
Dr. Laning has
been a resident of Anne Arundel Co. since her graduation. She practiced
in southern AA County and in Severn for two years and practiced for five
years in Ellicott City prior to joining our hospital this year.
Dr. Laning

Our Staff
Megan,
Veterinary Technician
Megan started working
for Millersville Animal Hospital in 1995, when Dr. Richard Rodgers owned
the practice, which was known as Benfield Animal Hospital. She was
just a part-time employee
attending Old Mill Senior High and has since received her AA at
Anne Arundel Community College and BA from
Towson University. Megan's dedication
to her job and sincere love of animals has made her one of our most
valuable employees. She shares her home on Kent Island with her

are lucky he found us. In his spare time, Gary raises a variety of

Darlene joined our
staff early in 2003 when she decided a change of pace would suit her.
Looking for something new, Darlene's dedication to animal welfare led her
to our hospital, where we are glad to have her.

has
made
her an
outstanding addition to the hospital. Darlene has recently adopted
two kittens, Angel and Lilly, who keep her very busy night and day.

Melissa, Veterinary Technician

Melissa came to our
office in September of 2005, eager to expand her knowledge and skills of
veterinary medicine. She has worked as a technician in Glen Burnie
for several years and is a great addition to our office. Melissa

their dog Jax, a cat named Hannah and a new puppy named Carly.

Kim, Veterinary Technician
Kim joined our office
after working for Pasadena Animal Hospital for several years. She
and Dr. Rommel worked so well together that when the time came for a
change, Kim decided to offer her services to our hospital. And we're
glad she did! Kim shares her home with her husband Harry, three
children, two grandchildren and Holly, a Black Lab mix.

Michelle, Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary
assistance was very new to Michelle when she joined our staff late in
2006, a year after graduating from Glen Burnie High School. To
extend her skills, like those already exhibited by other members of our
staff, she plans on continuing her education in a Veterinary Technician
program. When Michelle is not exploring parks and ponds with her
friends and their dogs, she spends much of her time at home with her
mother, a small bird and a dog named Maxwell.
